The 4th Annual Breaking Waves Music & Film Festival takes place in Freeport, Nova Scotia (located at the end of Digby Neck) on August 1st – 4th, 2019 (Natal Day Weekend ).
This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better! We are excited to have an all-new line up of performers who have never played at our festival.
The weekend starts on Thursday, August 1st with an opening gala evening at Gallery 217. Join us for an evening of music and art. Take in the eclectic mix of art from the islands and Digby Neck, meet the artists, and enjoy the music and spoken word art of Gwenevere Draper.
The Breaking Waves Film Festival takes place on the evening of Friday, August 2nd, at the Tiverton Community Hall where we will screen the winners of each category and award the prizes. Watch some brilliant short films, meet fascinating folks, sip a glass of wine as twilight settles on the island. The only thing we’d like more than showing your film, would be to have you here with us while we do.
The Music Festival takes place on Saturday, August 3rd in the Freeport Ball Field from 12(noon) to 9:30pm. This year’s festival will once again feature a fantastic line-up of Nova Scotian musicians – for more information on the performers, head over to our music festival page.
Also located in the field: a variety of delicious foods served by local vendors, a beer tent, Kids Zone (1-6pm), a teen zone, and a washers tournament.
Admission to the ball field for the music festival is $10 for adults and $5 for children for the day.
Breaking Waves is an outdoor celebration of music and will take place rain or shine! Three large tents have been ordered and will be sent up in the field to provide shelter from whatever Mother Nature decides to bring our way! Sun or rain, the festival WILL go on!
